As the Modern Languages Unit, we offer compulsory English courses to all students at our institute, as well as elective courses. In our courses designed to enhance listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills at various levels, we also aim to familiarize students with the culture of the language they are learning.

The Modern Languages Unit organizes courses, prepares the academic calendar, enriches the content of courses to ensure that students derive the maximum benefit from them, and provides support in all areas needed by students according to the demands of students and academic staff.

As the School of Foreign Languages, we offer mandatory English courses (ENG 101–ENG 201–ENG 301–ENG 302) to the students of our Institute in the first two semesters for the 1st-year undergraduate students, in the third semester for the 2nd-year students in the departments of Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, and Industrial Design, in the fifth semester for the 3rd-year students in the departments of Food Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Photonics, and in the sixth semester for the 3rd-year students in the departments of Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering.

Elective language courses such as JAPANESE, CHINESE, and GERMAN can be taken starting from the 2nd year.
